June 2009 - Best Drum Corps for Portlethen

It’s been a fantastic weekend for Portlethen & District Pipe Band as they travelled to Turriff for their 37^th Annual Pipe Band Contest.  The grade 4B band won the trophy for best drum corps and were placed 4^th overall.  The corps lead by Leading Drummer Gavin Wilson, have been tutored by Clare since the start of the year and it is great to see the band achieving the results they deserve.  The band has had its most successful season to date following their 5^th place at the Scottish Championships earlier in the season.
